A Reason for Some Absence

If you notice that I'm not blogging quite as much lately, there are 2 very good reasons: 1. I've been on vacation
2. I came home from vacation to a garden that is thriving!! (Thank the Lord for a bountiful harvest) This is just an extension of my frugalness...I can and freeze a lot right now for the winter.
After picking a wheelbarrow full of corn...here's a beginning:

Then, I had a sink-ful of wonderful green peppers..

And here's what I got:

And lastly, I had an abundance of green beans:

I'm up to 25 quarts (last year I canned 92!)


So, it's a beginning of FUN and WORK! And, I haven't started on the cucumbers...Pickles, anyone??
But, it's great to have it when winter comes!!
