Fun Mail
The trip to the mailbox can be fun...like today when I got my FREE Suave coupon and a rebate I've been waiting on.
No Coupons!
Well, apparently, there will be NO inserts in this Sunday's paper. Usually, on holiday weekends this is the case. Since Monday is President's Day...I assume that's the reason.
We got spoiled last week. But, it's a good time to weed out expired, get caught up on clipping, and organizing what we do have!! (And look forward to next week)

A Funny Story on Coupon Queens!
As I got to CVS on my usual Saturday morning trip, the store manager greeted me. I was looking at the local paper inserts to ensure that they had all 4 of the coupon packs in them. Well, they did. But as I was checking them out, she said, "I've got something to tell you that I think you will find funny." She said she was in a manager's meeting a few days ago with some bigwigs from CVS. She said at one point the big guy (not sure his title) said, "I just wish these coupon queens would show me how to shop and get the savings they do!" (my paraphrase..not sure on the exact words) Anyway, she said someone in the meeting piped up and responded, "O, but they do. Just get on one of their blogs. They will tell you exactly where the good deals are, the coupons to use, and how to use them. They don't keep things a secret." She was laughing at this point.
I responded, "You know that has been one of the many blessings of blogging. I have "met" some wonderful women, who, like myself, want to save money. There is no pride, no selfishness in this community. It's all about sharing knowledge so more people can benefit."

frugal Tip Tuesday
If you have followed my shopping at all, you have already noticed that I buy a lot of dish detergent...the liquid type. You may be wondering, "Does she do that many dishes?". Well, with a family of six there are a lot to do, but I do have the blessing of a dishwasher. And, yes, I stocked up on Electrosol recently....15 boxes to be precise. So, what do I need all that liquid dish detergent for?
Well, aside from stock piling....buying it when it's on sale w/ a coupon. There is another way I use it up. You know those hand soap dispensers (I call them fuzzy pumpers, but I think that's playdoh) I think Dial makes one, but I have bought one for each of my bathrooms at the Dollar Store. Well, in case you didn't know, those things are refillable. When they run out, simply fill w/liquid soap just until you cover the bottom of the dispenser. Then fill to the top with water. Shake it up and you're ready to go.
Believe me, this is a big money saver for me. With four children, we wash a lot of hands around here. One note, I have had to replace one...it had been in use for about a year and I think the pump just plain wore out!!
