Wait Patiently!

"I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry." Psalm 40:1

Hmmm..waiting.  I don't like waiting, and most likely you don't either. It's not something we enjoy. Whether it's standing in a line at the grocery store, sitting in a traffic jam on the highway, or simply getting impatient with the microwave, we, in general, do not like to wait. We want everything NOW!

And, yet the psalmist declares that he waited patiently for the Lord.  It's important to remember as we pray that God is not on our timetable.  We don't tell Him when to do something.  He works in His way and His time.  He's never in a hurry, and He's never late. (That reminds me of the song, "Four Days Late")  How perfect is God's timing!

We may think we know when the best time to act is..when we need God to intervene the most.  But remember, God knows best.  He has ALL knowledge, and He is in control. He knows yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  He knows it all, and He alone is sovereign.

So, when it comes to prayer...remember "waiting" is essential.  Look at the result of waiting patiently:  "he inclined unto me, and heard my cry."  God heard!

He IS working, even when He might seem silent.  Trust in Him.  He is faithful!  And trust that His timing is ALWAYS best.

Blessings!
